iluvsarahii x ColourPop Chic-y Palette Review

Looking for an affordable, everyday, neutral eyeshadow palette? The iluvsarahii x ColourPop Chic-y Palette is perfect for you!

For those of you not familiar with iluvsarahii aka Karen, she is a beauty YouTuber. I am a huge fan of Karen AND ColourPop, so when they announced their collab, I was all over it. While the full collection features another eyeshadow palette and lip products, I decided to only pick up the Chic-y palette because I figured I’d get the most use out of it since it has the most wearable colors for everyday.

Shades

The Chic-y palette comes with four pressed powder shadows in the following shades:

  • Distressed: matte vanilla
  • Vivacious: metallic pink champagne
  • Freckles: matte warm mocha
  • Noche: matte black brown

Pros

What I love best about ColourPop’s pressed powder shadows is that they are creamy, easy to blend, and pigmented. Plus, they’re affordable! I also love how Vivacious can double as a highlighter. The glow is INTENSE when you pack it on. So amazing!

The Chic-y palette originally retailed for $18, but it is now on sale for $12. That takes the prices of the shadows down from $4.50 to $3 each for four 1.5g (0.05oz) pans. Either way, it’s a great deal! I’m not sure how much longer the collection will be available on their website, as ColourPop typically tends to phase out some of their products after a while. I would jump on this deal if you’re looking for a go-to everyday palette.

Cons

However, I will note that their pressed powder shadows have a bit of kickback when you dip your brush in the pan, so make sure to tap off any excess before applying the shadow to your eye or try to be light-handed when picking up the product with your brush.

While I haven’t experienced fallout using the matte shades, Vivacious (the metallic shade) has a TON of glittery fallout if you use a fluffy brush for application. For best results, I recommend using Vivacious on a small, flat brush and using gentle swiping motions to place the color on your lid or inner corner.

I created an easy matte brown smokey eye using the iluvsarahii x ColourPop Chic-y palette. Check it out below!
