July 2018 Favorites

From meeting Maybelline’s social media team to decluttering my room and finding a newfound love for minimalism, July has been a productive month. Here is everything I’ve been loving this month.

Beauty

Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink in Fighter

Can you believe I haven’t tried Maybelline’s liquid lipsticks until this month? I wish I started using them earlier! This nude matte lipstick is long-lasting, comfortable, lightweight, and non-drying. I love that it fully dries down and isn’t sticky on the lips. The formula is clearly made with makeup superpowers because it literally does not come off when I eat or drink. I can go a whole day with this color on my lips and it’ll still look like I just put it on at the end of the day. I usually don’t gravitate toward brown nudes, but the shade Fighter has pink undertones which looks so beautiful on my lips and complements my fair skin so well that I find myself wearing it often.

Derma E Hydrating Cleanser

I’ve been using the Derma E Hydrating Cleanser for the past year and it’s hands down one of the best cleansers I’ve ever used. Not only is it a cleanser, but it doubles as a makeup remover as well. The formula is gentle on the skin, safe for my sensitive skin, and takes off every trace of makeup on my face. My favorite thing about this cleanser is that it leaves my skin smooth and hydrated as it contains hyaluronic acid. I’m almost running out of it and will definitely be repurchasing it.

Pixi Beauty Overnight Glow Serum

So, I ran out of my Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum from the Acid Trip kit this month and while it’s been a game changer for keeping my acne-prone skin breakout-free, I decided to use Pixi Beauty’s Overnight Glow Serum because $90 is a lot for me to drop on skincare right now. You feel me? I’ve used this Pixi serum before and it leaves my skin so glowy the next morning, which is no surprise as it also contains glycolic acid.

Pixi Beauty Makeup Fixing Mist

Pixi Beauty’s Makeup Fixing Mist is a total summer must-have. Not only is it refreshing to spray on my face in this midst of this LA heatwave, but it also extends the wear of my makeup so that it stays on all day without sweating off. I also use it all the time to wet my makeup brushes to give my shimmery and glittery eyeshadows a foiled effect. It’s the perfect multi-use product that should be a staple in everyone’s collection.

Fashion

Levi’s 501 Shorts

Is it just me or is it so hard to find a pair of jean shorts that fit just right and are the perfect length? I went through a phase where I was all about short-shorts, but as I grow older, I find myself gravitating toward shorts that are just a bit longer. I’ve been wanting a pair of high-waisted denim shorts that are frayed at the bottom and I finally found the perfect pair. I’ve been non-stop wearing my new Levi’s 501 Shorts and definitely want to get a pair in black once they restock my size. They do run big so consider ordering a size down if you’re going to order these shorts.

Food

RXBar Chocolate Sea Salt

I came across an RXBar multipack at Costco which includes their Peanut Butter Chocolate and Chocolate Sea Salt protein bars. Instantly, I added it to the cart because I am all about their no B.S. ingredients. To my surprise, as a peanut butter lover, I actually prefer the Chocolate Sea Salt bar so much more. This one has sea salt sprinkled on top of the soft, chewy chocolate bar and makes for a yummy snack or breakfast bar.

AUDIOBOOK

Crushing It! by Gary Vaynerchuck

To my fellow business-minded entrepreneurs, this is the audiobook for you. If you’ve ever seen any of Gary Vaynerchuck’s videos, then you know that his enthusiasm and passion is contagious. I love his honest and raw advice about business, especially as it pertains to the realm of social media. As a content creator, listening to this audiobook was informative and inspiring because other influencers also shared their stories about how they started and got to where they are now. I find it fascinating learning about others’ success stories. By the end of the audiobook, I felt empowered and excited to continue creating and sharing content with you all.
